This lovely 84-year old homeowner has significant support from her devoted family. Unfortunately, in her desire to maintain some independence she had taken several tumbles trying to maneuver around her home. Through the HUG Program, the winning contractor (Eberline, LLC) was able to reimagine the homeowner's front stoop by putting in a ramp that is sound and architecturally appealing. A side ramp from the sunken dining room to the kitchen was added so she can continue to prepare her own meals. On a previously built ramp in the back of the home, stoppers were added for traction. 

What a great start to the From Renting to READY journey!

Last Saturday on June 20th, Develop Clayton's own Shan Jackson hosted the first "From Renting to READY" Homeownership Workshop, bringing together aspiring homeowners for an informative and empowering discussion about the path from renting to owning.

Participants learned about:

-Homeownership readiness

-Credit improvement strategies

-Financial planning and budgeting

-Mortgage and lending options

-Resources available to support future homeowners

What a meaningful day of collaboration and conversation

On Saturday, June 27, Develop Clayton was proud to participate in the Homeownership Summit at Clayton State University, where community leaders, housing professionals, lenders, and residents came together to explore solutions that expand access to affordable homeownership.

The summit provided valuable resources, expert insights, and meaningful discussions focused on breaking down barriers to homeownership and creating stronger pathways to housing stability and generational wealth for families throughout Clayton County.
